Program Note

Pisces Exterior is based on a poem written by my sister, Ayleen Meriam. In her poem, the narrator explains that their calm exterior, like a glass-smooth lake, reveals none of the horrors hiding just beneath the surface. The narrator protects the world from the massive beasts and strong currents that hold her hostage. They frighten anyone who dares to look into the water, leaving the narrator to weather the storm alone.
