Program Note

Evil Circus Dance was written for a subset of a Pierrot group – clarinet and piano. The piece lives in an octatonic world, bringing the listener to a strange place. With the piano representing the moon and the ocean, and the clarinet playing the part of a disturbing clown, the two work together to tell a story up to the interpretation of the musicians and the audience.
